Htin Kyaw Sworn In As New President Of Myanmar

New president of Myanmar has been sworn in, and became the first elected civilian leader for over 50 years.

Htin Kyaw of the National League for Democracy NLD replace Thein Sein, which extend reforms during the five years of his reign.

Who Htin Kyaw?

Htin Kyaw, 69, a person close to Suu Kyi.

He is a graduate of a university in the UK. He has a reputation as being honest and loyal and humble.

His father is a writer and poet Min Thu Wun, and became a member of parliament in the 1990 elections.

His wife Su Su Lwin, is the son of the founder of the NLD, and is also a member of parliament, and party members are well-known.

He plays the role of a senior official in Daw Khin Kyi Foundation, which was established in honor of Mother Suu Kyi, and are often seen along with the NLD leader, and serve as drivers from time to time.
